New Group Program

I am so excited about my new group program Better Together. This is not a short term challenge or a quick weight loss program. It is a program designed to show you that you can achieve life long lasting results by creating a new relationship with food. Learn to use real food to nourish your body. Create new habits. I want to show you that you can lose the constant cravings and feelings of deprivation. Are you ready to ditch dieting?

As I designed this program I thought back on what has worked for me and what hasn’t. Lately I have been focusing more on why different programs didn’t work. One of those experiences was Weight Watchers.  I tried it several times and usually with friends. To be honest, I liked a lot about it, or at least the idea of it. I was excited to do it. So why didn’t it work for me?

The Good and the Bad

I am a social person. I enjoy interacting and learning from others. I liked how they had meetings. It was a time where I became more inspired. I learned tricks and tips. I liked getting new ideas of foods to try from other members. I needed the weigh-ins. Although the number on the scale wasn’t what I always hoped for, they helped keep me stay disciplined and on track… at least for a bit.

Their program may have evolved, but at the time you had a certain amount of points you could have per day. Each food was assigned a certain number of points. They stressed you could eat anything you wanted as long as you stayed within your points. Nothing was off limits. This was never going to work for me as I still drank my diet coke and low fat foods. I ate foods with terrible ingredients. I was addicted to sugar. I lost some weight but inevitably I would fall off the points wagon. I would gain it all back and sometimes more. This wasn’t a sustainable way for me to eat. Constant cravings beat me every time.

How I Did it Differently

In the beginning of my journey, (click here if you want to learn more about my story), I started making small changes. I removed gluten, and I started to cut back on my carbs. I tracked my protein, fat and carb intake instead of counting calories. I discovered when I increased my healthy fat intake, ( before I avoided fat at all costs), and decreased my carb intake I wasn’t as hungry. I learned about fasting and figured out how to best make it work for me. The cravings started to go away.  I had more energy. I wasn’t hangry at three in the afternoon or felt like I needed a nap. I am not saying it was easy in the beginning. It took a few weeks but the cravings did disappear. If I fell off the wagon and had a bad weekend (or week!) I soon realized all I had to do was lower my carbs and the cravings would go away again. Instead of feeling like it was impossible and quitting, I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I realized I can do this. It was a slow process (and one I am still working on) but as of today I have lost 30 pounds. I haven’t gained weight in 3 years.  I slowly take it off as I enjoy life at the same time. I am not perfect but I am consistent. Consistency is what is important. I wake up everyday with the mindset to nourish my body. If I fall off the wagon I don’t quit like I used to but instead hop right back on.

I would estimate I eat clean and low carb 80% of the time. That enables me to indulge and still eat french fries or cookies on occasion when I want. I just don’t eat them everyday and to be honest I don’t even want to. I don’t feel deprived or like I am missing out. If I can do it you can too.

As soon as you stop looking for that quick fix I believe you will start to see progress. You will see that small steps add up to big changes.  It has taken me 5 years to lose 30 pounds.  That is a long time but I can tell you I am glad I did it. I feel great and I know I can easily keep it off.

Why It Took Me So Long

I didn’t know what I was doing. I had to sift through so much noise and do so much research. I had to figure out what information was correct. I had to experiment. I had to see what worked for me. I was missing the community.  I didn’t have the coach or the teammates to guide, encourage and help keep me accountable.

How I Can Help You

In creating my new program Better Together I want you to have all those team aspects. I want you to feel supported. I want you to feel empowered. I want to share what I have learned. I want to provide you with knowledge, resources and accountability. I want to help you set your own realistic goals and help you see what small steps it will take to get you there. But most of all, I want to be your biggest cheerleader. You will be encouraged to keep going even if it gets hard. This time, I want you to see that you can do it.

Why You Should Check It Out

It isn’t only about losing weight. It is about feeling better and being metabolically healthy. It is about losing the brain fog (where did I put my phone again?). It is about gaining more energy and sleeping better. I believe that if you stop focusing on weight loss and instead focus on nourishing yourself with real food and feeling better you will find the weight will start to fall off and stay off.

I am confident that if you commit to the full 3 months you will start seeing changes for the better. In fact, I am offering the third month free if you sign up for the 3 month option. At only $78 It is affordable and it will provide you with the knowledge and support you need. You will be a part of a community all working towards a common goal and cheering each other on. If you are only ready to dip your foot in and want to try it out for 1 month that is fine also. Just get started!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email me! I am excited about this new program and can’t wait to get started. I have placed the links below to sign up and get more information.
